I really liked flickr and fun things like making meez and m&m people.
I learned tons! I feel more comfortable with some of the computer world experiences and more importantly, I now know if I don't know how- I can learn how! Thanks for the opportunity and all the help from Sarah and my coworkers. I definitely think this will help me with my work and to be able to help patrons who are computer strugglers!
Yes, I'd like to participate more- but NOT during the Summer Reading Program time frame. Time has been a real issue.

This was amazing!!
All those books to read and all those audio books!
This is great to have 24/7 access. They are FREE!
Patrons can have books that are not available from our region.
You are not allowed to post or change sites and copyrights must be respected.
I want to download the Jan Karon books. They are favorites I would enjoy hearing again. It will give me something to listen to while exercising as an alternative to music- my favor

ipods!
I learned about ipods and am now enjoying my pastor from Houston'
s ipod messages. I am interested in travel, music and ministry. I can learn more about children's literature and program ideas. Next summer reading program is arts and music- so I'll have a new tool to enhance the programs!
I have added my favorite site to my google read.

Do you feel like your world is falling apart? Learn about the scientific protein molecule that keeps us literally together! Molecular biologist shares cell adhesion molecule- the glue of the human body.

I went to travel, then checked the airline fares. More than one site came up and I was able to check out lots of companies- found cheap tickets to Hawaii!
This was amazing to see so many topics . We can certainly help our patrons with variety and "launch pads" of futher thinking.
Sarah, we'll bring you a pineapple!

I like the video on google docs. It was very clear and a good representation!
I documented the styles of dulcimers from our programs this week. I sent it to my work files, This will be very useful to have others participate without being overwhelmed with email sent and to be sent. It will be much easier to store and retrieve documents.
I like the grasshopper head too.

This was very frustrating!
With lotz of help from Tony- and somethings we had to figure it out together, this was accomplished!
With being so busy with the Summer Reading Program I really have not had time to spend on this as I was hoping- so am trying to play catch up!

Having heard the phrase "wiki wiki" in Hawaii, it was interesting to know that this process was indeed named after the Hawaiian word!
My favorites were the Duct tape and Dads articles, actually dealing with the subject of childbirth and early childhood parenting practices. I also enjoyed the children's gardening section from Saint Joseph's.
I think we can use these in the library to give tons of info quickly and from countless resources.
I liked the "no comments allowed on this page" because it is restrictive to rude and crude remarks some thoughtless person might make.
I must move on to #17 quickly- I mean "wiki wiki"!

How can 2.0 make things easier? I think education tools like 23THINGS will make it easier because we will know what we are doing! As far as strengths, 2.0 provides more than one source, it is user-centered and very creative. Weakness are that a person needs to be educated in how to access and use the programs. There are the mentioned space and money constraints. I also was saddened as the noted fact that being computer related may mean that a person never has to, or choose to, visit a library. Let's not loose that! The concepts are flying- for instance the article about the New York Times article about UT Austin(Texas) Book less Library- which in reality was about creating more space for tech by eliminating duplicate and unused books.
More positives than negatives in general though!

Google Books was very helpful in educating me for future purchases for our library. It was a lot of fun to look through the books, and a great concept. I think it will be a shelf space advantage for libraries. It will present almost unending access for any topic. I feel it is almost a case of too many things for/to all people. I definitely think copyrights will be a problem target.

My favorite discovery on this item is Tot Spot. What a great idea! It is a place for parents and grands to make a personal page for their little ones. It will bring people together and is a great way to share photo and experiances of early hildhood. I could not get the screen shot link to open- but will try again later. My tag will be EC. I also like the tag cloud and clicked on python..........:)

I have enjoyed seeing how many different concepts and ideas have been redirected into the computer world. It is amazing when some one asks"How did you do that?" and you can honestly show and /or tell them ! Very empowering! I'd like the m3 player please.

I didn't have time to add my words, so here they are:
The Goodreads part was fun once Ms. Helen helped me with the "tag" part. It is an amazing dynamic to have all this info available with a click. Getting the link was much harder-but with the help from my kind friend, it's done! Yea Goodreads!!

This is a really cool article and I think alot of these views are very true. Some we can apply to grumpy patrons, which thank goodness doesn't happen very often!
This came from digg. I think it's very interesting that so many news sites are available. I like that you can personalize your incoming articles. If you don't like sports, you can not select that subject for your personal digg.
Who knew?

Here is my husband playing 5-0. He loves the Hawaii 5-0 series. We went in search of Jack Lord's "head" as they say in Hawaii. That means the statue or bust they created to honor him in a memorial. We finally found it in the Kahala Mall outside of Macy's in Honolulu. This mall is across the street from where Jack lived and he visited it many times. We found employees who remembered him with respect and fondness.
No, we did not go just to find Jack Lord's "head". We honeymooned in Maui and Waikiki in 2006, and returned for our first wedding anniversary 2007, where we visited many of the area public and private attractions.
My husband is a musician (bass and jazz guitar and vocals)and performed at the Molokini Lounge in Maui. He sounds more like Elvis that Elvis-many of the locals and tourists were running is saying 'Elvis is Alive!' It was hard to turn down the job offer and come home!

RSS feeds, or what happened to Hedy's little friends?
# 5
I have set up my own google account with a minimum of surprises. There is so much available- some wanted and some not. How very interesting!
#6 These sources could help in the library world by supplementing the written information we have in book form. It is up to date and includes pop-ups!
Using the google search- it was interesting to note that typing in the word ducks-brought forth more verb usage that noun! Such as "Clinton ducks Obama response....... ",rather than information on Hedy's new friends!
Best wishes to fellow bloggers!

Easy event would seem to be PLAY-however,sometimes that is the hardest when you are really work oriented. It was fun to type in color!! How do you make it metallic and glittery? See...I am going to learn to PLAY!
The biggest challenge is the tech stuff.(#6) But hey, that's why I'm here!
